Veneers are custom-made, ultra-thin shells crafted from high-quality porcelain.
They are permanently bonded to the front surface of your teeth to mask imperfections and create a uniform, aesthetic appearance.
Veneers are a versatile way to transform your smile while maintaining as much of your natural tooth structure as possible.
Veneers can enhance your teeth's shape, size, symmetry and colour, delivering a perfect, sculpted appearance.
They are ideal for concerns such as permanent stains, chips, superficial cracks and irregular tooth sizes and proportions.
They are best suited for anterior teeth that have good structural integrity, where the primary concern is only aesthetic appearance. Structural integrity is vital because veneers require sufficient tooth enamel to bond to.
Given their high degree stain resistance, veneers can, with proper care, provide a durable, long-term boost to your confidence.
Whether veneers are the best option for you depends on your individual circumstances and aesthetic goals. We recommend a consultation with our dentists in Ascot and West End, who can tailor a treatment plan specifically for you.
In the spectrum of cosmetic dentistry, veneers occupy the middle ground between surface treatments such as teeth whitening, and full structural repairs such as dental crowns.
While teeth whitening is an excellent way to brighten your natural enamel, it is limited strictly to colour. In contrast, veneers allow the shape, size and alignment of your teeth to be adjusted.
Similarly, while composite bonding is suitable for minor repairs, veneers offer a more durable and cosmetically elegant solution for teeth with extensive chips and superficial cracks.
In certain situations, our Brisbane dentists may recommend dental crowns instead of veneers. Examples include posterior teeth that sustain chewing forces, teeth with significant damage, and teeth that have received root canal therapy.
Rather than covering only the front surface of a tooth, a crown is fitted over the entire tooth like a helmet. This provides the tooth with both structural protection and cosmetic enhancement, for a durable result that is just as beautiful.

At le tooth, we begin by digitally designing how your new smile will look with veneers.
For the best results, we may recommend gum contouring and/or orthodontic treatment before fitting your veneers.
Our dentists will then remove a thin layer of enamel, in the range of 0.3 to 0.5 mm, to accommodate your veneers.
Temporary veneers made from composite resin will be fitted to your teeth while your porcelain veneers are crafted in the lab.
During your final visit to our Ascot and West End dental clinics, your temporary veneers will be removed, and your porcelain veneers permanently attached to ensure a natural look and functional bite.
When it comes to veneers, these are some of the most common questions our patients in Brisbane ask us.
